I suggest you re-do the example on your own system as it is shown, step by step, and all will be clear. The Montara Mountain surface is in the collection of example data, and it takes but a moment to create the drawing used so you can recreate the example exactly as it is shown in the topic. It is easy to reproduce the example given in the "Example" section of that topic. See the step-by-step example in the Visible Area topic in Help to which mechalas helpfully provided a link. Homer: I can't wait that long, tell me now! God: You can't wait 6 months? Homer: No. Homer Simpson: God, what's the meaning of life? God: Oh you'll find that out when you die.
#Can you do line of sight with liftoff simulator? how to
I've got how I might do this in sql worked out in pseudo-code but I'm not quite sure how to code it, but then if "Visible Areas" is built in I won't have to use it. Once I've got this working I will extend it to cover the electricity line from the windmill. I drew it in 2 minutes so don't comment on the drawing. What we are actually after is if we have a windmill on a hill, which areas can you see it from, as my very quick drawing in Paint shows.

What we actually want is a viewshed but I found this phrase "line of sight analysis" and I think it might be the same thing. I have opened a surface and the surface menu has appeared but I can't find this command or anything like it. I realise I am replying to a message from 2005, but for the version back then, Dimitri said that if you have surface tools (which we do) you use the visible areas command.
